Colorado November Fall Mini Family Photo Sessions @ Sharon Arnoldi Photography

FALL MINI SESSIONS!!!!

Fall Mini Sessions ARE HERE!!! YAY!  These always fill up so book your spot now. This year there are 4 dates - two in October for pretty yellow fall color and two in November to get that beautiful brown & red winter look.

Each location is gorgeous and has pretty lighting all day so don't worry yourself about lighting (that is my job)... be more concerned about when your kids are the happiest and lets book for then... remember that the lighting could be amazing and if you kids aren't having it you still won't love the photos.

The cost is $95 for a 30 minute session and includes a $35 product credit.  Photos from your session will be available the Monday after your session! You will come into the studio to view & place your order! I will have some really great packages & a few special items just for these sessions. An online gallery will no longer be posted for mini sessions due to online storage space limits and the presentation session will be the only time you will be able to order from your gallery.

Red Rocks Engagement Photographer | Sneak Peek - Jessie & Ken

It had just rained about an hour before and there was a sold out concert at Red Rocks, but we set out to shoot some engagements.  It was surprisingly easy to talk out way in to the park, even drove into VIP parking to get to some of the shooting spots.

Here's a quick sneak peek:

Borie Family Portrait at Red Rocks Park

Second shoot ever at Red Rocks.  The Borie's live directly across the street from me and I have yet to do their photos until now.  They are friends with another photographer and are really happy with their images so I didn't expect to be asked to shoot them but this year they asked me.  This makes me really happy - not because I am stealing clients from other photographers but because it proves that I am capturing something special for each family and putting my personal creative style into it.  I am creating something different, that you can't get from just any photographer.

One thing I have to say about my images is that they have great color.  I see the world as a bright vibrant, fun place - so I make sure that my photos show that.  Lately I've been developing an action, which I call the Anthro look - to look like it came out of an Anthropologie Catalog - which I am completely in love with their clothes and catalog.  Their October catalog had split toning on almost all the images, with yellow as the highlight and blue as the dark values - its still a work in progress and I've decided that I have to shoot the images to fit into it instead of just trying to apply it to any old image.

Castaldi Family Portraits in Trailmark Neighborhood

Two year olds are definitely some of my most difficult clients - if they sense that the shoot is not fun, then they don't want anything to do with it.  I am challenged to get the shots the parents want while still making the shoot fun.  I think that outdoor shoots work best at this age because we can do a couple family shots then let them run around, or let them swing between parents, tickles, laughter, hugs - the emotions can be amazing.  However once a two year old senses that mom and dad are forcing them to sit a particular way or do something - thats when my shoots take a turn and then it is a struggle for everyone.

For this shoot we did a mixed mobile studio / backyard location shoot. I am definitely partial to outdoor shoots, I love the COLOR, the natural - laid back look, and did I mention I love color?  I guess I'm just not a Richard Avedon type shooter (people on white backgrounds).

Whittemore Family Portraits

A beautiful fall day for family portraits! Taken my new favorite location: Turkey Creek Park. Chloe & Elijah were super fun to work with!

Keystone View Swan Mountain Road

I'm not sure why this never made it to the blog... I think it was because it was taken the weekend before the big snowstorm... So here it is anyways... taken on Oct 25!

I dreamed of taking this photo... I thought about adding the dogs to it but they were being off the wall the day we set out to go do this so instead we left them at home. It's hard to take photos of yourself so I wanted a silhouette but I wanted interaction with it too. I love the clouds, they frame us so perfectly -- if my tripod hadn't broken we would have seen more mountains but the low angle is actually nice here.

I love it so much that I got a 24x36 canvas gallery wrap for our living room - so far it's been a big hit.

Star Trails

My very first picture of star trails -- guess the earth really is moving! This was about a 3 minute exposure out in the San Luis Valley (Alamosa, CO area) I love it, but there are many things to improve on.

A cold sunday afternoon...

It was about 20 degrees out and my husband and I went out to take some neat photos. I was trying to get a cool reflection photo but I scared them trying to get close to the water. The camera was set in manual so I lucked out and captured this shot.

Georgetown, CO -- Christmas Market

Photos from Georgetown Christmas Market.
6th street shops
Bread available for purchase.  This guy was constantly running back and forth to get more so it must have been really good stuff.

Lots and Lots of really cute kids to photo!

More to come later...

Grocery Shopping

Grocery shopping in the snow... always more interesting.

Late Season Skiing!

Joined some friends for some skiing this past weekend at Breckenridge.... yes I did ski down some blue/blacks with my digital SLR. I got some strange looks doing it too, but I got some great pictures.
